My New Blog Idea

Greetings everyone! I know I should be making my original blog better, but right now I am in the mood to do something different. Most of the time I pump for Sara I sit at the computer. Sometimes I do useful stuff and sometimes I goof off. I had an idea for a blog the other day and decided now would be a good time to get it started.
I am one of those people who plans my meals every week. I can't comprehend how people never decide what they are having until they make it. So, the night before I go shopping I spend lots of time looking at a calendar and a list and picking meals. Lately, I am completely stumped... it takes me forever to plan for the week and I don't feel like I have much variety.
So, my blog idea is to post my menu each week and maybe get some ideas from other people and maybe give ideas to other people... then for us menu planners we will have to spend a lot less time deciding on a menu. Sometimes I will post recipes and pictures. I don't feel like I am the best cook in the world, but I don't think I am a horrible cook either. Some recipes will be quick, some will be healthy, some will be easy and some will be difficult (you get the idea).
This kind of thing might take awhile to take off because as of right now I think I have like 5 confirmed readers of my blog. But anyone who is interested let me know... I only want to keep it up if other people participate.
To get my blog started I will post a recipe we tried the other night. I don't have pictures, but it was something different we enjoyed. When I get my menu going for the next grocery trip I will actually post it.

Philly Steak and Cheese
-piece of roast or steak (the original recipe calls for steak, but I like it with roast)
-1 green pepper
-1/2 yellow onion
-1/4 cup water
-black pepper
-garlic powder
-beef boulion cube
Combine ingredients above and cook in crockpot for 4 hours or until meat is tender and veggies are soft.
Cut and toast some bakery buns or rolls and heat up a jar of nacho cheese. Spread the nacho cheese on the buns then add sliced roast and veggies. If you are a mushroom lover those can be added to the crockpot too. If the nacho cheese doesn't sound good we have had this recipe with mozarella or extra sharp cheddar and they taste good too.

So there is my first recipe- check back soon for my first menu :)

  1. I am one of those people you don't comprehend :) Maybe that is why I don't enjoy cooking as much. I wait until that night when I am starving and then think about what's for dinner. Guess what? I never have all the ingredients! I will be trying out some of your recipes for sure.
